The main uses of pre-painted galvanized steel coils are home appliances and construction.

Home appliance uses are mainly side door panels for refrigerators, and shells for air conditioners, freezers, and washing machines. The construction field is more widely used than home appliances.

PPGI coil for construction is used for roofing, guttering, sandwich panels, industrial building facades, cold storage panels, and rolling doors. Pre Painted Galvanized Steel Coils Structure

Prepainted steel coil coatings can be divided into three categories: primer, topcoat, and backcoat. Common ones are 2/2 and 2/1 coating structures.

The back side of the 2/1 can be coated with a layer of primer or only a layer of backcoat. It is mainly used for sandwich panels, which require the coating to have good bonding and foaming properties. The 2/2 uses a two-coat system of primer and backcoat, and is used as a single steel sheet.

Top Finish Coating (PE/HDP/PVDF, Etc.), When The Thickness Is Above 20um, It Can Effectively Prevent The Damage Of Ultraviolet Rays And Harsh Environments To The Coating.

Paint Coating Thickness

The top finish coating is larger than 20μm to prevent the intrusion of corrosive media. Due to the different anti-corrosion mechanisms of primer and finish coating, not only the total coating thickness should be guaranteed, but also the thickness of primer (>5μm) and finish coating (>15μm).

PVDF pre-painted steel coil requires a thicker coating. It provides a longer service life. The requirements for the backside paint coating depend on the application, and the sandwich panel only requires a layer of primer. The formed steel plate requires two coats. The thickness is at least greater than 10 μm.

Coating thickness: For polyester, the thickness of the primary coating is generally 14um, and the thickness of the secondary coating is generally more than 20um.

Coating color: according to the user's needs to choose (common colors are white gray, aquamarine, ivory, scarlet, orange, dark soybean green, brick red, etc.)

Package: 

Each coil to be securely tied with two bands through the eye coil and one circumferential, the contact points of these bands on the coil edge to be protect with edge protectors. Coil then to be properly wrapped with water proof/resistant paper, it then to be properly and completely metal wrapped. And each packed coil to be properly wrapped with band, three-six such band through the eye of coil at about equal distance, and two-four such bands securely tied around belly of coil at about equal distance.
