ZAM (Zinc-Aluminum-Magnesium) Steel Coil is an advanced coating material that features a ternary alloy composition of zinc, aluminum, and magnesium. This unique combination of metals offers superior corrosion resistance, durability, and formability compared to traditional galvanized steel coils.


The ZAM coating on the steel coil exhibits a honeycomb-like structure, which greatly enhances its corrosion resistance, scratch resistance, and adhesion properties. In accelerated corrosion tests, ZAM steel coil has demonstrated corrosion resistance that is 10 to 20 times higher than that of galvanized steel coils and 5 to 8 times higher than zinc-5% aluminum alloy-coated steel coils.


Furthermore, ZAM steel coil boasts excellent scratch resistance, with improved surface durability and reduced scratching. Its surface wear rate is low, and its stamping performance is significantly enhanced. Additionally, ZAM coating exhibits self-healing properties, where the coating components around cut edges continuously dissolve to form a dense protective film, consisting primarily of zinc hydroxide, alkaline zinc chloride, and magnesium hydroxide. This protective film offers low conductivity and helps inhibit corrosion at the cut edges.
